The Drop In is run by an experienced part-time Youth Worker with the support of a team of dedicated volunteer Youth Workers, whose leadership is truly inspirational. The Drop-In, which runs three evening sessions a week, has become a vibrant youth facility in the Town, where local young people regularly meet their friends, play pool and other games, cook and eat healthy food, listen to music, and take part in a variety of exciting activities and trips, all in an open, caring and safe environment.

Young people can join the Drop-In Centre when they reach secondary school age. The Drop-In is open to young people three evenings a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7 to 9 pm. The ground floor is wheelchair accessible (including the toilet) and there is a stair-lift to the computer room upstairs.   The Drop-In is occasionally closed on Bank Holidays and for two weeks during July and/or August.

Attendance costs 30p per session, and members can come and go throughout the evening. The age range is from eleven to 25 years old. The Drop-In serves young people who live in the local area, from as far as Carsluith in the west and Borgue and Twynholm towards the east.  Also, any young person who is a former pupil of Gatehouse primary school is eligible to attend, no matter where they live or subsequently go to school.  Young people who are on holiday in the local area, or staying with relatives, are also welcome to attend.

To be allowed to attend the Drop-in, all members and guests must complete a CONSENT FORM, which they can collect on their first visit, and bring with them on the next occasion that they attend.

Activities in the Drop-In include the following:

Table Tennis

Air Hockey
